Succulent Pumpkins for Fall

While the Winter holidays are just around the corner, it’s nice to savor the warm browns and oranges of Fall for just a few more weeks. With that in mind, I held a succulent pumpkin class this past weekend for Riversiders who were interested in making some beautiful Fall decor.

If you want to make your own, you need the following:

  1. a cinderella pumpkin

  2. hot glue and glue gun

  3. different types of moss: sphagnum moss, reindeer moss

  4. a 4” succulent,

  5. multiple 2” succulents

  6. multiple “trailing” succulents- you will cut off the pieces for your pumpkin.

To set up your pumpkin, you will first gently take the soil off the succulent roots and set them to the side as you go. Once you have all of your succulents cleaned off, you will arrange them on the top of the pumpkin. Using the hot glue gun, you will glue them to the top of the pumpkin. Next, cut off pieces of your trailing succulents and place them around the centerpiece. You will glue these as well. Once you are done glueing your succulents, you will glue the moss around your succulents to hide any roots.

And that’s it! Check out photos below to see how we did this.

Didn’t they turn out great?
