In Bloom is a garden education and design business. We work with DIY clients who need landscape design and plant knowledge support for their landscaping projects. We offer customized coaching and design support for clients in Southern California who need help with their landscaping and vegetable gardens.
In 2023, we expanded the retail side of our business in Riverside, CA. We follow a “store-in-store” model and have two locations in downtown Riverside where we sell high-end garden tools and fertilizers, houseplants, fresh flowers, and pottery.

Dial-A-Gardener
Are you facing challenges in your current garden or interested in learning how to garden for the highest yields possible?
During a virtual coaching session, I will teach you how to use tried and true practices that have worked for me and others. I can also answer questions, research solutions to the problems you are experiencing in your yard, and more.
By sharing skills, tools, accountability support, and encouragement, I can give you the confidence to achieve the best results as you grow & maintain your garden.

Design Consultation
Consultations are available for 60 minute appointments. At that meeting, I will do an assessment of your site and discuss your goals for your space. One Basic Design is included with the consultation for up to 100 square feet. For larger projects, you will receive a $50 credit on your design services and there is an additional cost. Projects vary by site, difficulty, etc. A custom planting list for the same square footage may be substituted for the design.
Each consultation comes with a follow up call to go over the recommendations.

Design Services, Installation, Planting Plans
Want a beautiful, environmentally friendly landscape but not sure where to start?
I offer two types of conceptual design services which feature 2d and 3d drawings and planting plans for native plant landscaping. My specialty is designing landscapes that include all of the right plants and water features that you need to certify your property as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. I design 95% of my outdoor landscapes with California Native plants.
Design Services are a follow up to your consultation.
Installation services only include planting and mulch at this time. No tree or plant removal is included or offered.
Who is In Bloom?
Karen has been an educator for almost two decades, adding Gardenary coach certification to her credentials in 2022. She started In Bloom as a way to offer affordable design services. Her philosophy is that we can each do our part to fight climate change one yard at a time.
In the spring of 2023, Karen also opened up a retail side of the business offering houseplants, gardening products, and fresh flowers in Riverside, CA.
